28 – 30 NOVEMBER 2025

The journal was invited to be part of the Fringe Arts Wolves Festival 2025…  So, we asked… what does ‘Safe Haven’ mean to you?

Maybe it’s a space, a time of day, or a tune, perhaps the sound of rain… what does it feel like?

All hail our Octopus Overlords!

Black Country by the Sea explores a future where the waters have risen and humans are no longer in control. Styled after Telly Savalas’ cult 1981 tourist-information film Telly Savalas Looks at Birmingham (yes, it’s real and on YouTube), this light-hearted mock “tourist information” short invites octopuses to see the funny humans.

Our Octopus Overlords find us such strange little creatures that they’ve built a human reserve. Come and watch the humans in their “natural” habitat! Black Country by the Sea is their perfect (at least in their eyes) recreation of our world.

Filmed across multiple locations in the Black Country and the North Atlantic Ocean, with location shoots at the Black Country Living Museum.

Created as part of the Black Country Digital Firsts programme with support from Creative Black Country, The Space, and Ikon Galleries’ Slow Boat.

“Knitting calms and focusses my mind. Knitting helps my anxieties find their way out of my body through my busy hands, even if only temporarily.” Edgington

This is a photograph exploring the relationship between the artist and their ongoing knitting project that aims to never be completed .The knitting began in 2019 and this photograph was taken in early 2024.

Update: as of November 2025, this long rope-like form of knitted string has since all been unravelled, wrapped into several large balls and is in the process of being knit into a cocoon.

This virtual installation was created last year to celebrate LFW’s ruby anniversary – 40 years of London Fashion Week. I decided to dedicate the installation to Pam Hogg’s runway shows which I had the privilege of covering. The space was connected to the journal last month. Yesterday (26th November 2025) Pam’s family issued a statement on her IG account informing the world has lost the gentle, tenacious, rebellious fashion designer who used her voice and her platform to bravely speak up against genocide and injustice. She led by example – her shows were protests.. fabulous works of art, anti capitalist and non hypocritical on the runway, she demonstrated all that’s wrong with the fashion world by reminding us of what fashion with a capital F is really about… unapologetically ferocious creative self expression. Pam will forever be an inspiration to us all.
